American Tower Reaches Major Construction Milestone for New Edge Data Center in Raleigh, North Carolina 

Once the data center modules have been assembled and integrated on-site, the final step will be preparing the facility to be ready for the data center’s anchor tenants. The scope of this work includes final activities such as network and security installation among other key tasks. When deployed at the end of this phase, the data center will be capable of delivering 1 megawatt of power and is expected to span 4,000 square feet in the initial build. The Raleigh Data Center will be able to expand to 4 MW of power at full capacity.  

The Raleigh facility is the first Aggregation Edge Data Center offered by American Tower, delivering low latency, and high throughput to serve as interconnection hubs for the digital ecosystem. They support a wide range of use cases such as hybrid cloud, high-performance computing (HPC), and AI inferencing, which enables local enterprises to improve business outcomes with modern technologies, Raleigh represents an ideal data center location, since it is one of the fastest-growing metro areas in the U.S. and is near renowned academic institutions and large enterprises in Research Triangle Park.¹
